Seven years ago the first tweet was sent out by @jack. Today, Twitter has 200 million active users and 400 million tweets daily, transforming not only the way the world communicates but giving a voice to millions globally—to use for fun,
for political change, to build movements, to save lives and to inspire.
We’ve started a list of seven big Twitter moments and pose the question:

5. @NASA discovers water on Mars
Announces it on Twitter “Well, get ready: We have ICE!!!!! Yes, ICE, *WATER ICE* on Mars! w00t!!! Best day ever!!’ in 2008.
6. Osama bin Laden raid leak
33-year-old IT consultant in Pakistan Sohaib Athar beats the world press to news of the US raid that killed Osama bin Laden in May 2011.
7. Missing Bronx Zoo Cobra
@BronxZoosCobra created when the deadly snake escaped, picking up 200k followers in just a few days, becoming a local and national icon and just one example of the comedic side of Twitter
